Hiring sales and marketing staff
Every CV claims the same outcomes. The difference is whether the numbers, the cycle and the market match the job you are hiring for.
The shared problem: metrics without denominators
This is the most confidently quantified sector on the site and the least comparable. "112% of quota" needs the target, the deal size and who built the pipeline. "6× return on ad spend" needs the budget. "Grew the account 40%" needs to know whether the client was growing anyway. Every guide here does the same thing first: it treats a number without its context as an unverified claim rather than as evidence, which on its own reorders most of the pile.
Then the deal shape decides everything
An account executive closing £45,000 deals over four months and one closing £4,000 deals in three weeks need close to opposite backgrounds, and both write the same CV. A performance marketer at £3k a month and one at £250k are different professions. A content writer whose work is edited and one who publishes unreviewed face different bars. In this sector more than any other, the discovery conversation is what makes the pile sortable at all.
Pick the one you are hiring
Seven roles where the headline number is the least useful thing on the page.

Describe the role in a sentence. Selene works from your conversation, not from a library — the guide comes back shaped around what you actually said.
