Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Selene Hire website and service (the "Service"), provided by Prestidigitation Labs. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Selene Hire is an AI-assisted hiring tool that helps you define roles, screen candidates, and produce shortlists. Features and functionality may evolve over time as we improve the product.

2. Accounts & eligibility

To use the Service you create an account with accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. The Service is intended for business use by organisations and their authorised team members.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to misuse it — including attempting to disrupt it, reverse-engineer it, upload unlawful content, or use it to make hiring decisions in a way that violates applicable anti-discrimination or data-protection law.

You are responsible for determining whether AI-assisted screening is permitted for your use case, industry, and location, and for meeting any obligations that follow from using it — including, where they apply to you, bias-audit or fairness-testing requirements, giving candidates notice before an automated tool is used to assess them, and providing a way for candidates to request human review of an automated outcome. The Service is built to support these obligations — for example, scoring is deliberately blind to personal characteristics, and a human can always override a score with the reason recorded — but using the Service does not by itself satisfy any specific legal, regulatory, or industry requirement that applies to you. If you are unsure what applies, seek your own legal advice before enabling automated decisions such as auto-reject.

4. Credits & billing

Access to the Service requires an active plan, billed at US$1 per year and renewing annually until you cancel. The plan unlocks the Service and includes an initial grant of free credits. Beyond the plan, the Service is usage-based: credits are purchased and consumed when the Service performs AI work, and some actions do not consume credits. Credits expire 12 months from the date they are granted or purchased, regardless of plan status. If you cancel your plan, access to the Service is suspended and unused credits cannot be used while it is suspended; if you resubscribe before those credits expire, they remain available. There is no automatic charge when your credit balance is exhausted unless you explicitly enable auto-top-up.

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the plan charge and on credits you have not used. Credits you have already consumed are not refundable, because the AI work they paid for has been performed. The full terms, including how to request a refund and what happens if we are at fault, are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Payments and Merchant of Record

Payments for the Service are handled by Dodo Payments, who act as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. Your contract of sale for the plan and for credits is therefore with Dodo Payments rather than with Prestidigitation Labs, their buyer terms apply to that sale alongside these Terms, and Dodo Payments is the seller shown on your card or bank statement and is responsible for collecting any applicable sales tax or VAT.

Dodo Payments may grant a refund under their buyer terms, including where you exercise a statutory right of withdrawal, even in circumstances where our Refund Policy would not require one. Where that happens we will honour the refund and adjust your credit balance to match. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the consumer law that applies to you.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the data you upload (such as job descriptions and candidate information). You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for having the necessary rights and consents to upload candidate data, and for handling it in line with applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, the Selene Hire name, and the Selene persona and marks are owned by Prestidigitation Labs and protected by applicable law. You may not reproduce them without permission.

8. Disclaimers

Selene provides recommendations to assist human decision-making; final hiring decisions are yours. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prestidigitation Labs is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated to you.
